The ZBF is also the perfect place to swap with foreign beers.
These two plastic bottles were brought by Danish beerlover Jacob
Lövenlund, a top rater at ratebeer.com.
Left: Smoke flavored beer. Right: Extremely hoppy Danish IPA.
Two marvelous beers and really worth the transportation to Belgium.

The new Urthel Bock. This beer is mainly exported to the Netherlands
where the tradition of Bock beers is more common.

At bry. Van Steenberge stand. The representative from bry. Van
Steenberge was entouraged by Dominiek Geers and wife from Dranken
Geers. Dranken Geers being one of the best drink centrals
in Belgium !

|

A BIG toast - with great beers from brasserie Grain d'Orge -
to this years' ZBF !
|

Every fellow worker carried, as I already explained, those blue
ZBF shirts. Also a white card could be noticed. Here you see the
card from Rik Vernack (chairman De
Oostendse Bierjutters). Rik was part of the 'Security'.

Back to Flanders. Bry.
Van Steenberge (BIOS).
Representative Martin Cuelenaere pouring out a lacto-acid "Oud
Bruin" Bios Vlaamse Bourgogne for me.
|

Martin Cuelenaere was once chairman of the Bruges' OBP beerorganisation
"d'Olletorreproevers". Sadly non-existant anymore.
|

Pierre Celis involvement at bry. Van Steenberge. Celis White.
Do notice that the new fruitbeers (the Brussels range) are also
an idea from Pierre Celis and are brewed with Celis White as basis.
|

The tap choice and installation was one of the most impressive
at the fest.

A nice drawing featuring the Grail (Graal in Dutch). This drawing
is made in the same style as the famous Belgian strip figure "De
Rode Ridder" from deceased drawer Karel Biddeloo. One
of his last drawings this is !

The always sober looking De Graal stand. Be aware that the beers
are not that sober. Really recommendations !!

Alvinne pouring out some Podge Belgian Imperial Stout. A stout
specially made for English beergeek Podge (see picture here under).
|

4 brews with an amount of 30 liters were made. The wort is exactly
the same, but the fermentation was realized with 4 different yeast
strains.
A. IRISH
B. SCOTTISH
C. DRIED T58
D. WHITBREAD
The objective is that Podge will choose one of those 4 brews to
continue with. Most of us opted for A !!
